The timer is loud when it goes off but the buttons are very stiff and hard to push. I guess that can be a good thing to make sure it is not easy to change it once set, but when my arthritis is acting up I have to have my son set the timer. It works for short times or either a countdown for a vacation or holiday to get the kids excited about something. I really like that this timer has such a large range for setting because it is a pain to set a timer to its max and then try to remember how much more time you needed to add to it. it's a flat bottom timer so it sits on a table top and the numbers are easy to read. the only downfall to it really is the difficulty in setting it. that may loosen over time but so far it is staying as the factory set it. This product was either given to me free or purchased at a substantial discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I say free or discounted because by the time I write a review I honestly have no idea what was free or not, which is why the price of the product had no influence on how the final review was written.
